Self Publish Childrens Board Book?
Q. I'd like to self-publish a children's book, but instead of a book with regular pages, I want to do the card-board page style (these are the thick pages that little kids can't tear or bend as easily). I've looked at LuLu.com and they don't print this type. Is there any other self publishing company that prints the board page books? Thanks in advance!

A. You might want to check with these. Not sure what they offer, but they might have what you're looking for. good luck!

Are backing boards needed to be placed inside the comic book binder pages along with the comic?
Q. I just got into collecting comic books, and I was wondering if I still need to put backing boards inside the binder page with the comic. So, pardon my ignorance.
Asked by pendrell - Sun Jun 28 05:24:18 2009 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments
A. yea man, definitely - if you have large binder pages i would suggest buying boards that are an age bigger. Example - if you are binding modern era books - use silver or golden age backings - That way the book will rest on a bigger piece of cardboard and wont really get caught up in the binding.

Why did you change your message board on finance page for stocks?
Q. The old message board was adequate. Now, with the new format, nobody wants to use it. It is not very functional out here in the real world. Several of us in our office use Yahoo and like the message board for info on our investments. Now we are searching for a new service because of the 12 people in our office who tracked their investments through the message, none of us use the new format. We think it is cumbersome and just awfull... I am sure I am not alone in this assement.. thanks.

A. Thomas, this Yahoo Answers program is not for contacting Yahoo but for speaking with other users like yourself. Now that you've brought up this subject, though, I would like to comment. I agree with you fully. The old Yahoo message boards worked fine, and now they are difficult to navigate around. Many have left Yahoo message boards for another forum called Investor Village. I've been there and using it. It has a lot of really nice features. For some stocks, most of the old Yahoo users have gone over to the new place. If you try it, maybe I'll see you there. Best of success.

They are terrible folks and they would suspend your account even without any prior notice or warnings. I was using them long time, even i was their big affiliate too, but i experience always this frustrating..they just don't care you. So best advise and recommendation is, please use a paid hosting, you would be more confident and reliable way for your website and data. good luck

A. well you have block printing, foam plates, and even screen printing, acrylics and inks are used , speedball makes ink for this too but it tends to rehydrate so a good covering or fixative is best afterwards. now what is actually done is your carving the art into the foam using several tools. you can go to youtube and look up zarteducation and they give tutorials

How can I permanently write on a dry erase board?
Q. This is a strange question because there are many pages dedicated to removing permanent marker from dry erase boards. I actually WANT to make a permanent design. Does anyone have any idea what kind of marker/pen will do this? Sharpie, maybe?

A. Sorry Everyone ... but you're all mistaken. You can write on a dry erase board with a "permanent" marker or a Sharpie but when you use a dry erase marker it will remove it from the board. In fact that is exactly how we recommend fixing a board that someone has written on with a permanent marker. We tell them to simply scribble over the permanent marker with a dry erase marker, let it dry for about 15 seconds and erase it. The chemicals, I believe they are called Xylene, in dry erase markers will mix with the permanent marker and it will wipe off the board. I'm not sure how complicated your design or what you want printed on your board but there is a web site called PrintedDryErase.com that makes custom printed dry erase boards. They… [cont.]

How do you format a comic page on blue line pro art board?
Q. I'm going to be printing with ka blam, but their sizes seem to be contradictory to the sizes of the blue line pro art board I'm using. Once I get the hang of the formatting I intend on using better paper, but for now, I need some help with the measurements. any tips on drawing on BLP boards? Should I go to the edge of the paper, or just to the border? Any advice? Thanks!
Asked by Degn - Sun May 31 23:44:50 2009 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments
A. You'd want to stay within the border. The page itself should be 11" x 17". Then there should be two borders printed on the page. The outside border 15 x 10 3/8 would represent the actual comic page itself and the smaller 9 x 13 safe dotted border area is where the actual art should go. Ka-Blam is a print-on-demand service so I'm not sure about the ability to print "full-bleed". You'd probably want to play it safe and stay within the inside border.

A. Contact Yahoo and tell them you want a bigger board or you want your money back. You could always print screen and put it into Windows Picture and Fax Viewer, but that's only if you move very slowly. How about trying a third party browser like Firefox or Slimbrowser? I get different results that way. Alternatively play checkers, you don't even need to be able to see the board. lol
